We offer a range of services to help those experiencing hair loss, including consultations, wig fittings, hairpieces, hair systems and treatments. Our trained consultants are available to provide personalised advice on the best solution for your individual needs.

A hair loss consultation is an essential service that allows our trained consultants to assess your individual needs and provide personalised advice on the best solution for you. During the consultation, our consultant will assess your hair loss, discuss any medical conditions or medication that could be contributing to hair loss, and provide recommendations for the best course of action.

When coming in for a hair loss consultation you don’t need to bring anything along with you but we do suggest if you’re looking for something in particular a photograph of yourself, or a look you would like to try can be helpful.

During a hair loss consultation, our consultant will assess your hair loss advising what they feel would be the best option for you. In the consultation you will be able to try different wigs and hair pieces on in a variety of colours, whilst the consultant will give their honest expert opinion.

The length of a hair loss consultation can vary depending on your individual needs and requirements but typically lasts around one hour.

If you are needing a wig/hair piece for a medical reason the consultation is free. If you are wanting to try wigs/ hair pieces on to change your style or hair colour, we would book you in for an “Image Service” that starts from £50.

Wig & Hairpiece Questions

When wearing a wig , it is important to have a comfortable fit. A wig cap is optional to wear underneath the wig but not essential unless you have hair. When putting a wig on you need to place the wig on your head and adjust the tabs either side, so it sits evenly on your temple area for a secure fit. The front of the wig then needs to be positioned 4 fingers from the top of your eyebrow, so the wig sits on your hairline area. Trendco offers expert fitting, styling and aftercare advice for all different types of wigs.

Proper care is essential to maintain the appearance and longevity of a wig or hairpiece. Always use specialized wig shampoo and conditioner and avoid brushing or combing while wet. Allow to air dry on a wig stand to retain shape and prevent tangling. Avoid heat styling and excessive sun exposure. Store the wig or hairpiece in a cool, dry place in a wig box or on a stand. Trendco offers salon services for maintenance, repair and professional cleaning of wigs and hairpieces.

Styling a wig or hairpiece can be easy with the right tools and techniques. Use a wide-tooth comb or wig brush to gently detangle, starting from the ends and working upwards. Avoid using heat tools, but if necessary, use a low heat setting and protect with a thermal spray. Experiment with different hair accessories such as clips, bands, and scarves to create a variety of looks. Trendco offers salon services for expert cutting, styling and customization of wigs and hairpieces.

Choosing the right wig or hairpiece can be overwhelming, but it is important to consider factors such as style, colour, and fit. Trendco offers a variety of styles to suit different face shapes and lifestyles, as well as customization options for a perfect match and fit. Our consultants are here to help and give their expert advice.

Depending on the wig or hairpiece, different methods of securing such as clips, tapes, glues can be applied. Trendco offers salon services for expert fitting and customization of wigs and hairpieces.

To measure head size for a wig or hairpiece, use a fabric tape measure to measure the circumference of the head from the hairline to the nape of the neck, then from ear to ear across the forehead. Use these measurements to select the appropriate wig size or consult with a salon professional for expert fitting.

To make a wig or hairpiece look natural, select a style and colour that complements your natural hair. Use a wig cap to create a smooth base, and consider adding baby hair or sideburns for a realistic hairline. Experiment with different hair accessories and styles to create a natural, personalized look. Trendco offers salon services for expert customization and styling of wigs and hairpieces.

Wigs and hairpieces should be washed regularly to maintain their appearance and longevity. The right products should be used and aftercare instructions followed correctly to help keep your wig/hair piece last. Products and aftercare kits are available in all of our Trendco Salons and on our website.

Wigs and hairpieces should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Use a stand or a poly head to maintain shape and prevent tangling. Avoid storing in a damp or humid environment, and keep away from children or pets.

The different types of wigs and hairpieces include synthetic, human hair, high heat fibre, lace front, monofilament. Each type has its own unique features and benefits, and the choice of wig or hairpiece will depend on individual needs and preferences.

Wigs and hairpieces should not cause damage to natural hair if they are properly fitted, maintained, and cared for.

Wigs and hairpieces can be styled with heat tools if they are made from human hair or high heat fibre only. We recommend only using a low heat temperature on the hair and applying heat protector sprays for protection.

The lifespan of wigs and hairpieces can vary depending on the hair type, length and making sure the correct aftercare is followed.

Wigs and hairpieces can be worn during exercise or swimming, but it is important to choose a product that is designed for these activities and to take appropriate precautions to avoid damage.

The cost of a good quality wig or hairpiece can vary widely depending on the hair type, hair length, cap construction and brand of the product.

To find a reputable wig or hairpiece supplier, it is important to do research and read reviews from other customers. Visiting a salon like Trendco can also be a helpful way to find a high-quality product and get personalized advice from experts. View our salons here.

Potential discomfort or itching when wearing a wig or hairpiece can often be addressed by adjusting the fit or choosing a product with a more breathable cap construction. It is important to consult with a professional if discomfort persists.

Matching a wig or hairpiece to natural hair colour can be done by bringing in a sample of natural hair or using a colour chart. Trendco's salon services offer colour-matching to help customers find the perfect match. View our salons here.

Wigs and hairpieces can often be customized or tailored to personal preferences by cutting, styling, or colouring them to achieve a desired look. Trendco's salon services offer customization options to help customers achieve their desired look.

Creating a variety of hairstyles with a wig or hairpiece can be achieved by experimenting with different styling techniques and accessories, such as clips, plaits and headbands. Trendco's salon services can provide styling advice and inspiration to help customers achieve their desired look.

Yes, you can style your human hair wig with heat tools, but it's important to use a heat protectant and avoid excessive heat to prevent damage. Our stylists can advise you on the best way to style your wig.

You can find high-quality human hair wigs at Trendco stores or online. When choosing a vendor, look for a good reputation for customer service and quality. Consider the vendor's return policy and any customization options they offer.

Synthetic Fibre Questions

Synthetic wigs are made from man-made fibres, while human hair wigs are made from real human hair. Synthetic wigs are typically more affordable and require less maintenance, but human hair wigs offer a more natural look and feel.

At Trendco, our stylists can help you choose the perfect synthetic wig that complements your face shape and personal style. We offer a free consultation service to ensure you are completely satisfied with your choice. Find your nearest salon here.

To maintain the quality of your synthetic wig, use specialist wig products, follow the correct aftercare advice given and avoid exposing the hair to any heat.

We advise against using heat styling tools on synthetic wigs as they will damage the fibres. However, we offer a range of high-heat fibre wigs that can be styled with low-heat settings.

High Heat = also ‘heat friendly’ or ‘heat-resistant’ are wigs or hairpieces made with synthetic fibres that are somewhat resistant to heat and can be styled using hot tools such as straighteners and hairdryers etc. We recommend that you do not use any tools that exceed 140° C.
