You've Started Losing Your Hair,

Now What Are You Going To Do About It?

Written by Key Contributor Emma

So, you’re increasingly concerned…the mirror is no longer just somewhere to have a quick check that all is looking as it should before you head on out, instead it’s become something that you’re either totally avoiding or constantly re-visiting to check on your hair.

You’re experiencing hair loss; you can’t stop thinking about it and your search engine algorithm isn’t helping with the content it’s pushing over to you…. how does it know?!  Is it time to avoid the mirror, turn off the phone and hide away or is it time to take a long deep breath and face it head-on?

For us here at Aderans Hair Centre, we’re going to encourage the latter most definitely. No solution was ever found, or a situation tackled from hiding away. Although we do understand why you would, it’s not easy to face hair loss head-on, we know it’s easier to panic and worry than it is to research, seek help and stay calm when you’re faced with your hair falling out and feeling like you have zero control of it.

Hair loss in any form is something most of us do not understand, so we ask ourselves all the questions. Is this hair loss part of the natural ageing process?  Do I not have enough of the right stuff in my diet?  Am I ill, do I have a medical condition? Will it just stop as soon as it started?  Am I going to thin in areas or am I going bald? WHAT IS HAPPENING?  So, to tackle hair loss head on it’s time to take back some control.  It’s time to get some answers that make sense for you and it’s time to ask the right questions in the right places and start to find potential solutions.

All different types of hair loss have a cause, a physical symptom (the loss) and potential solutions. You’re unique and your hair loss condition is yours, but you’re not alone. Up to 50% of the population from age 50 have been or are affected by noticeable hair loss so there are now more options than ever to help manage and treat your hair loss.  To tackle your hair loss, it’s time to reach out, and speak to a hair loss professional for some informed advice and for more info on your type of loss.  Once you know what you’re dealing with the first step is taken and you can start to look at treatment options.

Specialists are there to help and to signpost to other professionals and support networks.  Talking about and sharing your hair loss may seem like a step too far but when you’re ready this is without question the best way to deal with your concerns.

To tackle your hair loss head on you need be brave and take that first leap.  Don’t be afraid to speak to a trusted family member or friend, definitely reach out to the specialists and never feel like your concerns are ‘no big deal’ or ‘don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things’.  If something is a worry to you then it matters, no matter how big or small it may seem.  Hiding away will only prolong how you feel and in hair loss the sooner you seek help the better chance you have of a solution working for you.
